We chuck the MetroCard, leave behind the skyscrapers and make a beeline for a quaint white-washed barn in the Litchfield Hills. A class of 16 foodies gathers around us as we sip big glasses of red, warm our hands by the pot-bellied stove and churn out gougeres like nobody’s business. Filet mignon crostini are next, then roasted cod and something dense and chocolate-y for dessert…

The Silo Cooking School- host to everyone from Martha Stewart to Jacques Pepin- is fulfilling one of Brooke’s life-long, Baby Boom fantasies by hosting us and our signature ‘Date Night’ cooking classes in their beautiful, historic cook-barn in western Connecticut.
