Call it a Southern thing–we born and bred Dixie girls love to dress all the young ones alike and, then, as if we couldn’t remember our own children’s, niece’s and nephew’s names, stick a monogram on any and all pieces of clothing. And don’t think that under garments get a pass–lace-trimmed bloomers are like a bull’s eye for fancy script and first names.
So imagine my delight when the Pottery Barn Kids catalogue landed in my lap, featuring a spread of flannel holiday pj’s emblazoned with the kiddie’s names, snowflakes and reindeers! Our family’s Christmas Eve party, which begins early and ends late (and features the juiciest hunk of roast beef and gooey-est round of baked brie on the Gulf Coast) presents the perfect pj stage for our 1 year-old daughter and her 4 tiny cousins.
I’ll probably invoke some unreasonably mean holiday rule like, “Do you want Santa to come? Do you want Rudolph to make a stop on your rooftop? Then you’ll get in these pajamas, pose next to your cousins for 86 photos and SMILE! SMILE!”
Like a good Southern mamma, I’m in love with these like I’m in love with the smell of pine needles and gingerbread. I’m ordering mine today!
Pottery Barn Kids Holiday Embroidered Pajamas
P.S.–This post says it was written by James but, trust us, it was written by Brooke. If Jamie had his way, he’d stuff Parker back into her reindeer costume from last year. Sigh, men just don’t get the beauty of the matching and the monogrammed.
I love the matchy pj’s for the kids too! You can also get them from Children’s Place and The Company Kids (The Company Store) as well. They even have matchy pj’s for adults if you can rope the husbands in to wearing them. (and if you do, let me know how you did it, because I cannot convince mine to participate!)
