Pumpkin pie is always best the next day… or the next, right?
All the flavors have mingled and settled and become their best selves (Kinda like what’s supposed to happen in a good marriage.)
This year I entrusted ours to Eric Landlard, aka Cake Boy, and his outstanding new cookbook, Tart It Up! He’s known for his amazing sweets and his even more out-of-this-world clientele like, oh, Madonna, Elton John, Claudia Schiffer, George Michael.
So fancy, right? Well, I felt fancy making the humble pumpkin pie even though the ingredient list was short and the directions very straightforward. I’m sure it’s going to be delicious. And if it’s not, I’ll just blame Jamie. Eric and Jamie met while the patissier-to-the-stars was cookbook-touring through ICE. A chef bromance ensued. I was forced to adjust my pie recipe (sorry, Martha)…
